Training Courses

Courses are held at regular intervals throughout the year.
The course runs over three consecutive Saturdays (9am TO 5pm) or Saturday 9am to 5pm Wednesday 7pm to 9pm for two weeks. Participants must commit to attending all sessions. There is no charge. Please contact us for the dates of next course.

The course covers the following topics:

  • preparing a budget
  • consumer rights
  • managing debt
  • cultural issues
  • practical exercises
  • homework!

What happens after the course?

After the course a trainee budget adviser will work with a client under the supervision of an experienced budget adviser.
The trainee budget advisers then get together again to share their experiences and difficulties.
After working with more clients under supervision, the Budgeting Co­ordinator and Course Trainers may then recommend to the Directors of Agape that the trainee becomes a fully accredited budget adviser.

You will be sent an application form to complete. You will need to nominate some referees. and provide a brief statement about why you want to be a budget adviser.
